Ok, I've been on this ship too long. I've been estatic about the DS, I've been cheering until the wii, because I thought they'd come through after making huge blunders with the Gamecube. Ever since the Wii/DS double punch, they've steadily been taking back the position and market they've lost to Sony. I was actually cheering when I found out that the Wii was supposed to be this awesome Gamecube 1.5, and the wii-mote had so much potential, that it made my pants tight (and for some reason, I just like cheering for the underdog). However, two years into the hype, we've had nothing but mediocre games, and crappy PS2 ports. The Wii-mote turned out not to register more than a swipe, and tilting the motherfucker rarely does anything, if the game was NOT developed by Nintendo. What the fuck, Reggie, you promised me I'd cream my pants about this shit, I didn't sign up to be the receiving end of an ass-reaming. I fucking hate to bust out this term, but "casual" gaming seems to be the 'in' now. It doesn't matter if you've been gaming for 22 years, you will be treated like a retard by Nintendo, since you were stupid enough to churn out 250 for a Wii, you'll probably be stupid enough to shell out 50 per ~~dissapointment~~ game. Third party developers have been releasing nothing but shovelware in the last few months (FUCK YOU UBISOFT, I AM LOOKING AT YOU AND YOUR "PARTY BABYZ"), so much for a meaning of having that "Nintendo seal of Quality". And what's this, Wii Music? THAT was your biggest announcement at E3? Get the fuck out of here! Yes, we just had Mario Galaxy, YES, we had a Zelda game at launch, but what the fuck, guys, there are tons of other franchises that are waiting to be revived or picked up. How long ago has it been since we had a DECENT Star Fox game, not counting the N64 re-release of the game? How long ago did we have a Custom Robo game? How about releasing games that will actually sell, like Earthbound for the DS, or MOTHERFUCKING LAYTON 2? And am I the only person who was actually looking forward to Project H.A.M.M.E.R.? You could have release ANYTHING, and it still would have gotten a bigger rise out of the public, than this piece of shit that's called Wii Music. I know this isn't supposed to be a game, but If I want to play make-believe guitar, I'll just reach into my pants and wail away, pretending I'm doing a solo in a Guitar Hero song. Happy endings are guaranteed. Wii sports, I loved it. Wii fit raised some question marks, but I draw the line at Wii music. Also, remember the Wii Zapper? yeah, me neither. The current trend of releasing stuff at Nintendo works like this: - Design gizmo; - Create 2 games that work ONLY with said gizmo; - Create Hype; - Release gizmo and games, with a 1:4 ratio; - NEVER RELEASE ANYTHING COMPATIBLE WITH THE GIZMO EVER AGAIN. This has gotten way out of hand, I'm not even allowed to game like I used to, unless I download games from the virtual console, but since my Wii is actually OUT OF FUCKING MEMORY, this will have to wait as well. Even though I've made several rants against the damn machine, I've bought a 360, and I can enjoy being treated as a "gamer" again, although I'm pretty sure the damn thing will probably explode in my face soon. The Wii and I haven't been on speaking terms for a few months, but that may change if Nintendo stops treating the (European) fanbase like retards.....pff, yeah right, might as well wish for flying ponies and heaps of money, although a flying pony WOULD be fucking awesome. Beats walking to work.
